COVID-19 continues to circulate, with seasonal surges in the summer and winter that can still lead to severe illness, hospitalization and death—especially in vulnerable populations. In this Q&A, Dr. Dean Blumberg, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at UC Davis Children’s Hospital, discusses the current state of COVID, who should consider getting vaccinated, and what steps to take if you test positive.
Dr. Blumberg explains which groups are at higher risk, including older adults, young children, and people with underlying health conditions, and why vaccination is strongly recommended for them.
