Rarely does one feel it’s possible to blaze new frontiers in Rocky Mountain National Park, but today is a delightful exception. I take an off trail bushwhack to a mysterious ridge on the northeast side of Ypsilon Mountain, in Rocky Mountain National Park. I had almost no beta on this ridge or knowledge of whether I could even do it. Turns out it’s one of the best ridge scrambles I’ve done! Solid rock & great holds for 1000 straight feet, popping you right at the summit at the end. A pleasant surprise and a very satisfying day out, even if the Donner Ridge descent was terrible. If you’re looking for a top tier scramble to have all to yourself, and willing to work for it, I highly recommend this route. In keeping with the reindeer theme of Ypsilon Mountain, I’ve decided to call it “Cupid Ridge”. #colorado #wilderness #hiking #rockymountainnationalpark #outdoors
