Scripps News | Netanyahu accuses Hezbollah of using Lebanese civilians as human shields @scrippsnews | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 days ago.
Tens of thousands of people fled southern Lebanon today as Israel and Hezbollah exchanged more strikes.
The Lebanese Health Minister reported at least 500 people were killed and more than 1000 injured in a wave of Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah on Monday, marking the deadliest day of fighting between the two since 2006.
Hours after the strikes, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Lebanese people, urging them not to become human shields for Hezbollah. "Israel's war is not with you, it's with Hezbollah," he said.
"Hezbollah has been using you as human shields. To defend our people against Hezbollah strikes, we must take out those weapons."
