After Hurricane Milton grew from a Category 1 hurricane into a Category 5 Monday, the storm weakened slightly Tuesday after undergoing an eyewall replacement. The hurricane's top sustained winds were 155 mph Tuesday afternoon — making it a Category 4 storm. At its peak, Milton had winds up to 185 mph and the fifth-lowest barometric pressure ever recorded in an Atlantic hurricane.
Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in Florida late Wednesday or early Thursday as a Category 3 storm.
