Neon Genesis Evangelion fans, are you okay? 💛

I came across this footage from a retro Anime Expo karaoke contest where I sang “Komm, süsser Tod” (“Come, Sweet Death”) from The End of Evangelion.

Looking back, it feels like a snapshot of a completely different era of anime fandom. Anime karaoke contests, convention weekends, meeting friends, and singing songs that meant everything to us.

The funniest part is that it looks like I’m performing in the backrooms. 😭

Some things never change, though. I’m still performing, still working in the anime industry, and I’ll be back at Anime Expo this year as Industry. 💛
