Neighbours turned rivals in alleged drug turf war — one dead, one shot in revenge
A deadly confrontation in Sea Lots, Port of Spain, has left one man dead and another hospitalised following an alleged dispute over a drug turf.
The incident, which unfolded on Friday, August 28, 2026, involved two men who lived directly opposite each other along Production Avenue, Sea Lots.
The man who died has been identified as 26-year-old Edwin Richardson, also known as “Theo.”
According to information gathered by I.A.N. News, Richardson was allegedly involved in a confrontation with the other man during a dispute reportedly connected to control of a drug-selling area.
Richardson was allegedly stabbed during the confrontation.
Despite being wounded, Richardson reportedly managed to get away from the immediate area and alerted others about the stabbing.
A group of men reportedly went to the area where the alleged attacker was located. During the confrontation, one of the men allegedly opened fire, striking him.
Both men were eventually taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Richardson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The other man remains warded at hospital receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.
Police from the Port of Spain Division and homicide detectives visited the area and launched an investigation.
