Our next ultimate racer event is a fun one as now you switch to the other side of the law and get to be the one chasing speeders down as you have 2 minutes to bust 3 speeders at Coastal Parklands. A Lotus Elise, Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG, and Opel Speedster. It does mean you have to be quick though, averaging an arrest every 40 seconds. But that's quite easy as all you have to do is get them to stop or atleast slow to a crawl for a few seconds. Just ram them hard enough and their tires will temporarily lock up, completely losing the ability to turn & accelerate. Then just block them or pin them to a wall and that'll do it. And you have all the tools at your disposal that the AI cops do when chasing you. Hitting R2 will call in reinforcements to make a roadblock or spike strip to slow them down and hitting L2 calls in a chopper to assist. Although unlike the AI's who can use these infinitely, you only get 3 of each so use them sparingly. You do however get unlimited boost like they do which is how they always quickly close the gap on you no matter how fast you seemingly are. Just hit R3 to activate it and get rapid acceleration, and when it stops 5 seconds later just hit it again to reactivate it.
You also have to hit circle near a racer to activate your lights & sirens which also targets the racer nearest to you. That racer will now have a blue arrow over them indicating the one you're chasing & trying to stop, the rest of them will have green arrows indicating you're not chasing them at the moment. You're in the classic pursuit Ford Crown Victoria and winning this event unlocks the cop car in challenge mode as well as event 11 for ultimate racer. Of course with how much fun this can be, it has it's own game mode to let you do this whenever you want called You're The Cop mode. There's 5 of these events total in ultimate racer mode so we'll have more of these along the way. Aside from the finish line trick, this is easily the best normal method of getting NFS points quickly. Since once you bust all racers in You're The Cop mode, every second you had left remaining gets multiplied by 100 and is converted to NFS points. Combine this with the 2,000 you automatically get per bust along with anything else you earn throughout, and it adds up pretty fast. And unlike the events in the main campaign where the timer is fixed, the timer resets back to what you started with every time you make a bust in You’re The Cop mode. Making it much easier to earn a lot of NFS points depending on how smoothly the last bust goes.
