In courage
Does encouragement take courage?
I would say it does
To have a positive frame on this life is an act of heavy lifting
With eldiablo in the corners of our minds grifting
With the winds of constant change shifting
And everybody’s tendency towards drifting
Encouragement
What does it mean?
How do we get it
A spirit full of light
Blooming inwardly and outwardly
Everyday and night
The religious say just turn it over to God
And allow his power and guidance to flow through your days
The ambitious and self motivated
Like to put it all on themselves
Personally I think it’s a combination event
A combination of the two
To overcome personal failures
To stay on track ever focusing on the light
Rituals help
Prayer and meditation
Breathwork leading us to presence
And a positive enthusiasm for life which really only comes when we are putting effort towards our purpose
And so in that way I agree with the self motivated crowd
That some level of internal effort is needed here
And for the religious crowd who thinks God does all the heavy lifting
I can’t disagree with that entirely either
For even to put in that effort often requires something like grace and an internal motivation coming from the Holy Spirit
So I suppose in some way it’s hard to know where the energy to be encouraged really comes from
But how it looks from my version of the human experience
Feels like it’s a combination

The concept of encouragement comes with its opposite to even begin the conversation
For why would we need encouragement if it’s shadow called discouragement
Wasn’t always looming?
The answer is we wouldn’t.
But discouragement is looming and the sad truth is
Is that it swallows most of us
Unfortunately people giving up on dreams is far more common than people persevering.
Like with everything else
Observation is the key
To know thyself
To notice when you are discouraged
To notice the thoughts or principalities within which are causing discouragement
Like going down into a dark basement with a flashlight
And pointing it in every corner
See the source of discouragement and in that very seeing
Its power to overwhelm becomes hobbled.
