Last night we witnessed the worst call of the season, which absolutely ruined a spectacular game. And there was drama all around the league so buckle up for this one.
In a thriller ending the Rockets and the Knicks went blow for blow hitting monster shots.
And every time that Houston thought they were running away, New York came right back.
But, with time running out, the Knicks needed a stop. So the defense delivered when it matters the most.
And, after securing the ball, everyone knew who was going to take this shot.
This wild ending only set the stage for the most insane call I’ve seen in the clutch.
What foul? Where is the foul? Are you actually kidding me?! This is a 100% no call in the first, second and third quarter. But especially at the end of a tie game on a desperation 1 handed heave like this.
This is unacceptable. To ruin a phenomenal game with this call is ridiculous.
And I know I’m a Knicks fan but hey, you be the judge and let me know in the comments was this a foul.
Actually, don’t even do that. The ones that made the call already came out and said it.
After seeing it during post game review, the offensive player was able to return to a normal playing position on the floor. The contact which occurred after the release of the ball therefore is incidental and marginal to the shot attempt and should not have been called.
Thanks for nothing Ed Malloy.
Anyway moving on to another thriller finish in Cleveland where the Sixers were playing without Joel Embiid of course, but still, they were on fire shooting the ball and played great overall.
So this three by Kelly Oubre looked like the nail in the coffin for the Cavs.
But little did we know that this was only the beginning of the drama.
Garland fires up a stepback 3 and swishes it. Good shot but it’s still a 7 point game.
And then…
Mitchell converts the free throw and the Cavs force a 24 second violation on defense, setting the stage for this:
The crowd is delirious as Cleveland is on the verge of an unbelievable comeback.
They foul right away but Ricky Council calmly knocks down both free throws. Huge moment for the rookie.
Philly fouls as well to prevent the three and Donovan hits em as well.
And then, at the line we got one of the best free throw shooters. Tyrese Maxey who’s 86% at the foul line.
Wooow, Maxey misses 1 and you already know- what follows next is straight up chaos.
Oh my goodness, what an ending. The Cavs were just inches away from completing an epic comeback. Philly survive and win a huge game to stay afloat without their superstar.
Speaking of superstars, another game and another display of Wembanyama’s alien talent and physical abilities.
This almost looks like MJ’s dunk in Space Jam, absolutely insane.
Wemby was out there dominating every aspect of the game while putting on a show for everybody..
Wembanyama:
The guy finished the game with 27 points on 71% shooting, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 10 blocks. Wait, what? Victor had a triple double with blocks.
There is no limit to what Wemby can do, and he’s showing us exactly that every single night.
And while this ended up being a pretty boring game, I gotta give a shout out to the Bucks for securing a big win against the champs.
A wire to wire win as Milwaukee was up by as many as 28 points at one point.
This could end up being huge for the team, as they’ve been in a massive hole for a while now.
Even after changing the coach, the Bucks started out 1-5 with Doc Rivers, and things looked shaky for them. But this is their second win in a row now, and of course coming against a top tier opponent.
This is the case even more for Golden State, who are right now on a 5 game winning streak, this one being against their direct competition for the play in, the Utah Jazz.
Things have started to click for the Warriors but they still have a long way to go this season.
Thankfully for them, they’ve been getting a huge boost from Johnatan Kuminga, who’s been on fire for the past few weeks. He is one of the 5 players who are making a massive turnaround lately, and I’ve analyzed all of them in this video right here and you gotta check it out.
Talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
