Hey, I wanted to chat with you today about something that doesn’t always get the spotlight it deserves—what happens after the divorce is finalized. If you or someone you know has recently ended a marriage, you probably understand the whirlwind of emotions that can follow. The legal part is just the tip of the iceberg. The real journey often begins afterward, when you're left trying to piece together your life and make sense of what’s next. So, when it comes to divorce support post-divorce, therapy options can be a game-changer. I mean, think about it: you’re dealing with loss, maybe some guilt, anger, or even relief—but all wrapped up in a confusing mess of feelings. It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed. That’s where divorce counseling and therapy can help you process all these emotions in a safe, judgement-free zone. There are a few different types of therapy that folks often find super helpful after divorce: Individual therapy: This is one-on-one counseling focused on your personal growth and healing. It’s where you get to explore your feelings, develop coping strategies, and rebuild your sense of self after the relationship ends. Group therapy or divorce support groups: Sometimes, knowing you’re not alone in this battle is incredibly powerful. In these groups, people share their stories, challenges, and sometimes even advice. It’s a place to gain perspective and empathy from others who get what you’re going through. Family therapy: If children are involved, family therapy can help everyone adjust to the new normal and improve communication within the family unit. And if you’re wondering where to start searching for these options, there’s plenty of divorce resources available online and offline—from community centers to licensed therapists who specialize in post-divorce recovery. One particularly helpful tool I want to mention is the book Brokenness and New Beginnings . It’s all about finding hope during those messy, raw moments after divorce. The book offers practical advice and inspiring stories for anyone feeling lost or stuck. If you’re feeling like your world has been shaken, this book could be a real light in the darkness. Order your copy today to find hope and healing that you can carry with you as you move forward! Besides therapy, it’s important to remember that divorce help comes in many forms. Some people find comfort in community, joining support groups to connect, share, and grow. Others seek divorce advice from trusted professionals or friends who have been through it. There's also divorce assistance programs that can help you navigate practical matters like finances, legal questions, and co-parenting. Here’s a quick list of tips for anyone looking to step into healing after divorce: Be patient with yourself. Healing takes time, and it’s okay to have good days and bad days. Lean on support systems. Don’t hesitate to reach out to friends, family, or support groups. Consider professional counseling. A therapist can guide you through the emotions and help build healthy coping mechanisms. Take care of your physical health. Exercise, nutrition, and rest are often overlooked but vital during stressful times. Stay hopeful. Remember that this chapter is not the end—it's the start of new beginnings. Divorce can strip away many things, but it also opens the door for growth and rediscovery if you approach it with support and self-compassion. It’s a process, sure. But with the right divorce counseling or therapy, plus some trusted divorce resources , you can find your ground again—and build a life you’re proud of. So, if you’re navigating these waters or know someone who is, take a moment to look into these options. And don’t forget, Brokenness and New Beginnings is a great place to start your healing journey. Order your copy today and start discovering the hope and tools available for your new life after divorce.

![#296: Africa’s Ascent: What Drove Toastmasters Growth – Frank Tsuro
[28:53] Across parts of Africa, Toastmasters has seen double- and even triple-digit growth over a 10-year period—at a time when global membership has slightly declined. So what changed—and why did it stick? Frank Tsuro shares his experience, what contributed to that growth, and what others can learn—while offering a closer look at Africa and Toastmasters across the continent.
Frank puts the growth into perspective, explaining that it was years in the making—built on long-term thinking, leadership continuity, and a willingness to expand beyond familiar territory.
He also points to a shift in how growth was approached—moving beyond simply adding clubs to thinking more strategically about how they support each other. That helped address one of the key challenges he describes: isolation, where single clubs struggled to sustain momentum on their own.
At the same time, Toastmasters met a real need. In many parts of Africa, people conduct business in English or French—even when those aren’t their first languages. It provided an accessible way to build communication skills, connect across cultures, and invest in personal growth—while opening the door for more people to step into leadership.
You can read Paul Sterman’s article, Africa’s Ascent: The continent has soared in Toastmasters growth, visibility, and performance, in the April 2026 issue of the Toastmaster magazine. You can also check out Family Ties and Toastmasters: Joining a Club Together Strengthens Bonds and Boosts Communication (https://www.toastmasters.org/magazine/magazine-issues/2025/december/family-ties-in-toastmasters) in the December 2025 issue.
Listeners will hear…
• What drove double- and triple-digit Toastmasters growth across parts of Africa
• Why a multi-year plan created momentum that carried across leadership teams
• How one leadership visit helped shift the trajectory of an entire region
• Why growing areas—not just individual clubs—leads to more sustainable success
• How isolation can impact clubs—and what helps them stay strong
• How younger leaders contributed to the growth and energy across the continent
Frank’s perspective reminds us that meaningful growth comes from consistency, shared vision, and people willing to step forward.
Along the way, it also offers a deeper appreciation for the diversity and potential across Africa—and the role Toastmasters can play.
