Australian International Relations scholars and students have an important role to play in theorising change and envisioning post-COVID-19 futures.

Viewing global politics through the lens of gendered games can open up new understandings as well as new opportunities. These 'games' manifest in the performances of hypermasculine and proto-feminist leaders and nations, heightened inter-state and global contestation.

Inclusive and diverse political leadership is needed to navigate these games to bring about a more just and stable world order.

What gendered inequalities and structures inhibit women’s representation in IR, an historically masculine field? How can Australian IR scholarship contribute to needed change within IR?

In 2021 Dr Jacqui True was recognised as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of International Affairs. At this Fellow’s Address Jacqui will be presented with her Fellow’s Award by Dr Bryce Wakefield the national executive director of AIIA.
