NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has demanded allies produce 'credible' spending plans at next month's summit in Ankara after the UK's defence shortfall was exposed.

The new Defence Minister, Dan Jarvis has attended a NATO meeting where US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth launched a scathing attack on some NATO allies, accusing them of failing to invest adequately in their own defence while announcing a six-month review of the American military presence in Europe.
