The UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has resigned, less than two years after leading the Labour Party to a landslide election victory.
He had faced increasing pressure for months over policy u-turns, falling popularity and the decision to appoint Epstein-linked Peter Mandelson as UK Ambassador to the US, ultimately costing him the support of his own MPs.
The favourite to succeed Keir Starmer is Andy Burnham, the former Mayor of Greater Manchester.
But can he solve the UK's problems?
