Welcome back to another episode of PARK PROFILES, the series where we explore some of the most important figures in National Park and conservation history. Today, we're taking a look at Horace Albright. Along with Stephen Mather, Albright was an essential figure in the early days of the National Park Service. These 2 were perfect complements of one another: yin and yang, peanut butter and jelly, Sam and Frodo. Mather was the marketer, building public support and legitimacy for the fledgling NPS, while Albright was the man behind the scenes, putting everything together and laying the legal and administrative framework for the beloved institution we have today. Horace Albright is a personal hero of mine, and I hope you enjoy learning more about him.
