This promo ran in several variations for many years. Nine had long promoted its news around its two anchors in Sydney and Melbourne (Brian Henderson and Brian Naylor) and this promo took that a step further. Nine commissioned a jingle called "Brian Told Me" to promote their long careers informing their respective cities of a generation of news stories. This is the Sydney version, featuring Brian Henderson. "Hendo" read National Nine News in Sydney for over 40 years from 1957-2002. His reliable presence, smooth delivery and famous "The Way it Is" sign-off (borrowed from Walter Cronkite) helped keep Nine at the top of the news ratings for decades.
