This video is a play-through of Nathaniel Phillips' bassline from 'Glide', a hit for the band Pleasure back in 1979. As well as playing a killer slap bass groove, Nathaniel also wrote the song.
I recorded this line using a 1966 Fender Jazz bass strung with new Rotosound strings and a low action. The bass was recorded via a SansAmp Bass Driver DI, all controls set flat. A small amount of compression was added digitally.
