Moments after Nathan Phillips arrives at the group of Covington students to bang a drum in their faces, contact is made, twice, after which a boy yells, "Hay, don't touch him, don't touch him!" It's not clear if he's addressing his classmate or Nathan, the drummer, or perhaps he means to address both. But the boy's admonishments were a case-study in proper conflict resolution... Hay! Respect each other's space!

Nathan makes physical contact with the boys within seconds. Standard conflict-resolution guidelines include avoiding physical contact. So Phillips immediately proceeded to initiate known in-your-face provocation. So Phillips claims he tries to "reduce conflict" by in fact bumping into and banging a drum in the faces of young students who he claims were edging on violence. If that's not looking for a fight, what is?!
