Trump agrees with the initial predictions of epidemiologists that Covid-19 was poised to kill millions, if we did nothing. Unlike much of his base, Trump understands that those predictions were not proven wrong because fewer deaths are expected now, he understands that fewer deaths are expected now only because drastic action was taken by society, which means those actions worked to tame the viral beast. He understands exactly what so much of his base does not. He understands what talking heads on Fox seem to be incapable of understanding. We are lucky that he now understands and is listening to the scientists.
