Motive power for the only commuter train in a 300-mile radius is a fleet of four F40s originally built for Amtrak. The 122 was formerly Amtrak 399, built in 1985 and rebuilt in 2018.

They push/pull a fleet of ancient gallery cars (built 1950/1953/1965) with some of them being the first built, 76 years ago. They were rebuilt for MiTrain service in Michigan and wound down south entering service in 2020.

Taken June 2026.
