Nasdaq 100 futures positioning turned its most bearish since the pandemic, with large speculators adding shorts as long-end Treasury yields climbed.

Matt Simpson, StoneX Media Market Analyst, walks through what the weekly and daily charts, the bond market, and the futures positioning data are showing on the Nasdaq 100.

The 30-year Treasury yield has pushed to levels not seen since 2007, and Wall Street has felt it. At the same time, traders are running net short exposure in VIX futures, which prices in low volatility over the next 30 days. Large speculators and asset managers both peaked well ahead of price, a gap that matters when resistance sits overhead.
