I finally got un-bad at making FM covers. I think I've tried at least 30 since the last one uploaded to this channel and not a single one of them was worth publishing until I decided to do this one today. I think it's because it's such a simple but full song that just arranging it already gives you room to inject your own flair without having to rework the whole project. I do love those complete re-imaginings but I needed to do something simple before essentially relearning how to make good FM re-imaginings again.
For the chords, I'm heavily using the Special Ch. 3 mode of the OPNA to make major and minor chords with dyadic patches modified from Thunder Force IV. Most of the patches come from there actually, with a few from Sonic 3, electric guitar solo instrument modified from Time Trax, and a few being custom. Drums are from the Roland XV-5080.
I chose the OPNA because it's essentially OPN2 without the DAC noise and LPF of the Genesis, and SEGA PCM because of the crunchiness of its lack of resampling filter.
