I'm sure there could be improvements to this process to be faster and use less TNT, but this is just what I've come up with during games.
General Steps:
1: Collect pick, elephant cannon tnt, king's gear, ice, and blocks.
2: Destroy "shield" water above sponge.
3. Place 2 ice blocks directly above sponge and completely surround with water.
4: Place tnt everywhere around sponge and detonate.
5: Pillar up to sponge, mine out left over blocks, place additional ice block higher up, place blocks around sponge.
6: Use extra tnt to blow out blocks to the left and right of back bedrock wall to prevent tunnels.
