This is the story of Philemon and Baucis as told in Ovid's Metamorphoses 8.611-724. I took a few artistic liberties, let's say, in my retelling of this story. Ovid describes Philemon as an old man when Jupiter first meets him. I chose to make Philemon and Baucis in their 40s-50s so I could more easily age them thereby showing the progression of time. Also, Ovid says that Philemon planned to kill a goose for the dinner. Minecraft does not have geese so in the video you will see a chicken which I simply call an "avis" (bird).
