A final project video for my world Mythology class. This is a look at world Mythology references, inspirations, and connections in Nintendo Games. Features Zelda, EarthBound, and Super Mario with information from in-game text and outside resources (e.g. instruction manuals). I describe direct similarities between the afterlife and Super Paper Mario (Wii, 2007), creation myths and a Link to the Past (Super Nintendo, 1991), destruction myths and Mother 3 (GameBoy Advance, 2006), trickster characters and Majora's Mask (Nintendo 64, 2000)--as well as The Hero's Journey model in Ocarina of Time (N64, 1998). Discussion will include Greek, Norse, and African myth--along with Biblical and Roman tales.
