Colonoscopy prep is brutal enough with the laxatives alone, you don't need to give your health a hit with the junky items many doctors tell you to have before the procedure.
Usual things on the list are processed sugary juices, fiber free processed products days before, etc.
And while studies have shown 1 day of prep works as well as 3 or more days of prep, many of my clients tell me their doctor told them to go fiber-free and processed for 3-5 days before the procedure, before switching store bought sugary drinks like apple juice and sports drinks the day before.🤮
What I did for my colonscopy, and what has worked for my clients is this:
🥗 Stick to the usual hyper-nourishing plant based unprocessed diet until the day before the test.
☕️Then have water, tea, and colorless fresh-pressed juices the day before (or if you are not on the Goodbye Lupus Protocol you can include vegetable broth).
That way you can prep and not get sicker and more inflamed in the process.
Even if you prep more than 1 day, you can use these food recommendations.
NOTE: This cannot substitute for medical advice. Please talk to your doctor before taking this or any other advice. People's health conditions vary and you might need different prep time based off your medical conditions.
