You can use iodized salt, but because it's much finer and denser than kosher salt, you'll need to use less of it; for 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt, start with about 1/4 teaspoon of iodized (table) salt, taste as you go, and add more only if needed, as the iodine adds a slightly different flavor too.
