While I prefer using a landline to make and receive calls, it's become necessary to have a cellphone for "emergency" purposes. I bought this Nokia 5185i from 2000 for just that purpose. It's a no-frills model--it can only receive text messages, not send them; it doesn't have a speakerphone or a vibrate option--but it makes and receives calls, which is exactly what I need it to do.
