When I was poor, I had this vision of what I would be driving, it was a Porsche Cayenne. A luxury SUV, with some speed and enough sitting to fit some people. My favorite model is the turbo GT AWD 2022 gray/blue color – with golden rims. It is such a beautiful car.
There are three problems with this car and me owning it when I started actually considering it.
- First: I don’t like attention (their no way this car would not bring attention )
- Second: I don’t like losing money in 5 years that same Porsche would be worth about 50% of the original cost
- Third: I love reliability (these are not as reliable and easy to fix )
I know what you’re thinking: if you have money, you can just buy and who cares what people think. Truth is, these cars are for people that have money burning a hole in their pocket, and don’t mind losing money.

1. The Car and Tour
- This is my Toyota Corolla 2017 ( cost about 16k with over 130k miles on it ) – disadvantage of DR car prices
- Its an upgrade from my Toyota Prius from 2009
Overall:
- It’s a normal car so no attention
- Its extremely reliable and parts are easy to find
- And here specifically it holds more value over the long term ( although I don’t care much for that )
Cost benefits:
- This about 153k less
- It lasts about 250k miles with good maintenance, we drive about 10k miles a year
- We have left 120 miles or about 12 years give or take
- When have you seen a 250k mile Porsche and yes I know I could buy a 2017 model for less than 50k but that comes with other problems – plus it's not what I wanted
2. What I realized:
- Apple car play
- Faster car
- Model year
These are all small things that companies use to push you over the edge and to buy some expensive car
- But if you wanted carplay it would cost about $200
- Faster cars have to follow the speed limit
- And the model year doesn’t matter, it matters how long the cars last
3. Who else is Like this
- Scotty a mechanic here on YouTube, his wife has driven lexus from like the early 2000s
- My Rich Uncle has a 2010 4-runner
- My almost rich friend drives a 2011 Honda CRV
Poor People:
- My old high school friend drives big trucks and BMWs ( doesn’t even work construction)
4. My Next Car
- I’m looking into a Truck ( because I really like farming and animals – so eventually it’ll be something I may need – but not currently )
- I would like a Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Beucase we all like the high-quality trims and stuff
But here is what I will say
- I’m not buying this car most likely until I have a house
- Until I have a farm or a reason to have it
We are not comparing different things:
- Cars are based on utility
- So Toyota or proche 100k or 10k
- They all do the same and get to the same place at the same time because of road limits
5. SO if you want to be rich
- Drive what rich people drive
- Toyota, Honda, and Ford
- I like Mazda too
- Pay cash for your car
If I do end up buying a Tacoma or Tundra
- They go for like 40k
- That’s a lot of money
- But 40k/60 payments of saving
- That’s $667 dollar per month ( then boom I have the cash)
