A new album from Orchid Classics: Daniel Kurganov and Constantine Finehouse present official world premiere recordings of 21st century works by Lera Auerbach and Richard Beaudoin, as well music by John Cage and Olivier Messiaen.
"Through the music of this album, we have endeavored to juxtapose two narratives: one of lost memories and anguish, and one of openness and potential. As these narratives battle before our eyes in the real world, may this music serve that dialectic, wherein we accept the burden of darkness and reach towards lightness."

Yes! Today Im sharing the first of a set of 6 etudes by Russian pedagogue Alexsey Yanshinov. These are unique studies in that they combine several great qualities: theyre very short, theyre in 1st position, theyre musical and expressive, they work on multiple aspects of technique in a clever way, and they are perfect for bowing variations. No matter if you are a professional violinist or an advancing amateur, these charming works will enrich your abilities. I not only give these to students, but love to use them as warmups myself.
