Can we improve our intonation, sound production, musical understanding, expression and bow technique using a simple yet beautiful 1-minute etude?
Yes! Today I'm sharing the first of a set of 6 etudes by Russian pedagogue Alexsey Yanshinov. These are unique studies in that they combine several great qualities: they're very short, they're in 1st position, they're musical and expressive, they work on multiple aspects of technique in a clever way, and they are perfect for bowing variations. No matter if you are a professional violinist or an advancing amateur, these charming works will enrich your abilities. I not only give these to students, but love to use them as warmups myself.
