I suppose my flowerhorn was already infected with hex when I got him, and my poor judgement during water change stressed him out too much. Possibly giving him chlorine burn, too.
Whatever you feel compelled to do, don’t. I should’ve told myself.
Or is it, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?
They say pretty much all wild-caught fish have some kind of parasites.
Some parasites even enter the fish’s brain and control the fish to get to the surface of the water to be snatched up by birds. The parasite finishes its life cycle in the bird’s gut. Then the bird poops in mid-flight the parasite eggs into the water. The circle of the parasite life completes. An insanely advance parasite, I might add. B/c of Phooey, I read so much on fish parasites that it almost gave me nightmares.
I don’t blame the parasites. They have their right to exist I think. They are just doing their thing.
Contributing to natural selection, I suppose.
I guess it’s my responsibility to provide the best environment so that it doesn’t wreak havoc on my fish’s health.
We obviously don’t want natural selection happening in our tanks.
I think my next homework is making medicated food to feed for parasite prevention.
