I got choked out by a guy half my size.

And I couldn't stop smiling.

Because for the first time in years, my brain went completely quiet.

No overthinking.
No replaying conversations.
No mental noise.

Just: don't get submitted.

Turns out I'd been chasing the wrong kind of fitness.

The gym builds your body.

But it doesn't train your mind to shut up.

At least not the way Jiu Jitsu does.

Most of us work out to look better or feel stronger.

But the real ROI? Finding one thing that forces total presence.

Where your phone doesn't exist. Where tomorrow's problems can't reach you.

That's not exercise. That's a mental reset.

And most people never build one into their week.

Find your version. Doesn't have to be Jiu Jitsu.

(Although learning 47 ways to get choked is strangely therapeutic.)

Just needs to demand your full attention.

I'm curious, what's your version of this?
