One of my goals for this year was to run a 10k. I had booked in for one in April, but of course, that got cancelled! Someone at work suggested a few of us sign up for one around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and I thought this was my opportunity to check another goal from my 2020 list!
I've run a 10k on a treadmil at the gym, and done it in around 1hr 03. My best 5k time is around 27:30, so my target was to complete this 10k in under an hour. Of the six of us from work, two would vanish off into the distance, but the other four would provide my competitiveness all I need to motivate myself.
A lap or so in, I realised I was running a very similar pace to a lady around 50 to 70m ahead of me, so I made it my target to finish ahead of her. It was a close finish! Watch to find out if I did it and if I got round in under my hour target!
