Steven Red Fox Garnett | My Favourite Short Story Yet?! - Virginia Woolf: The Mark on the Wall || AUDIOBOOK @redfoxvoice | Uploaded August 2023 | Updated October 2024, 57 minutes ago.
AUDIOBOOK || A delightful journey through the human mind... "The Mark on the Wall," which Virginia Woolf wrote in one sitting in 1917 while recuperating from a long illness, was her breakthrough into a new experimental form of fiction. Concentrating on the narrator's thoughts and mental states, Woolf tested the limits of the short story form by placing her emphasis on the inner life rather than on external action. Stream-of-consciousness or interior monologue techniques are here combined with modernist techniques and a new feminist consciousness.

๐There was so much I could have said after this piece, but I decided to let the words linger in the mind uninterrupted. However, I strongly recommened this article written by Herbert Marder for a little more context and analysis: encyclopedia.com/arts/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/mark-wall-virginia-woolf-1921
