This is a great voicing that Bill Evans used in his recording of Beautiful Love. It's a very useful voicing that can be used for multiple different chords.

In this episode of Chord of the Month, we're going to be looking at a very useful voicing that I came across in Bill Evans' recording of Beautiful Love.

It is quite a sparse and minimalist voicing, and it's built using diatonic fourths - creating a classic 'Bill Evans sound'.

It's also a very useful voicing since it can be used for a minor 6/9 chord, as well as a dominant 13 chord. It's a rootless voicing, meaning the root note is not present in the chord.
