My Favorite Expensive Electronic Music Gear
While I typically try to focus on more "budget" friendly gear here at Free Beat, from time to time I also dabble in more indulgent offerings. And, after almost a year of use, I can say that the Roland MC-707 is by *FAR* my favorite piece of expensive electronic music gear that I've ever used. While it's got great IO, awesome clip/sound management, and excellent live control, my favorite feature of the 707 is the way it still operates like a budget groovebox. The UI is simple, it's all about the tracks, the sound on the tracks, and how those sounds are put into the patterns. It's this particular workflow that makes the 707 feel like an actually premium, well thought out product, and I love it for that!
