I've been sitting on this one for months and I finally get to share it!!! I collaborated with Met of Art2Basic (you might remember her Menopause set from the channel) on a brand new custom watercolor color, and today I'm swatching it for the first time on camera. 🥹
Every year Met does an artist collaboration around one color. This year it was purple, and I got to mix it myself on a call with her until it hit that deep, muted almost-black purple I actually reach for in my art. I named it 'Mysteries Revealed' after a prayer my sweet Joy Fam, Jonna, spoke over me...that the mysteries of Christ would be revealed in my life.
In this video you'll see the paint wake up, granulate, and separate on the page for the first time, plus a couple of the other purples from the collab.
I also talk about why the process matters more than the product, which is exactly what we work through inside Dwell In Color if perfectionism has ever kept you from making art.
