This composition was based on a melody I sung on the morning of Thursday the 14th of May that I extended two days later by singing it into a voice recorder and then transcribing it, using the sped up low piano note to play the melody.
I then played the melody on the stacked sine wave sample with the 2 octave interval to it and transposed it a fifth and several octaves higher, harmonising it differently using the sample of a creaking door to play the chords underneath. The door creaked in an extremely high pitch in reality and I slowed it down so far that it sounded in some ways similar to a sine wave. It’s also panned slightly right because of how it was recorded as my recorder has stereo microphones.
The piano note also plays the base, but with a lengthened attack and the staccato chords are played using another stacked sine wave sample.
A sandwich container being hit by the fidget spinner as it spins was used to play the melody at the same time the stacked sine wave sample plays it in the second half.
