In this very long and very chatty video, I take you on an updated tour of my bookshelves ... which have morphed and changed a bit since my last book shelf tour video, which it turns out was in 2019 prior to the Pandemic. I think I've brought quite a few more books in than I've taken out since then.
But, my husband and I both love books and having plenty to read at home has been even more important to us over the past 3 years!!!
I have been meaning to do this video for weeks! This morning after enjoying Waski Squirrel's updated book tour, I got really inspired to do this today and test out my new mic/headset. While watching his video, I saw 20 titles in common with mine and Manuel's books! Manuel is heavy on the sci-fi fiction and obscure. My books are heavy on the spiritual and other non-fiction.
Other than the fact that I need to be in a support group for people that struggle to FINISH books - I am happy with my reading and my home library! I tend to refer constantly to certain books and enjoy a relationship with the book(s) over many years ... however, I aspire to read them all cover to cover.
My major categories seem to be: Non-fiction: spiritual, health/fasting/mind-body, Elvis, self help, crystals, minimalism/de-cluttering and cats. Fiction: historical romance, classics, young adult fiction and a bit of everything else too ... some of my favorite titles are in Manuel's possession ... I read JA Jance's whole Sheriff Brady series for instance but he guards his books very closely. LOL I read and enjoyed the Harry Potter series but we don't have copies anymore. Which seems tragic. We still have the movies. I loved the first book best!
I noticed 3 books over on one of Manuel's shelves after I finished filming ... that are in my collection (they escaped the video):
What I know For Sure by Oprah Winfrey
Wild Swans by Jung Chang
and
The Rice Room by Ben Fong Torres
No doubt I'll find other escapees too. But this was fun and I think I got the majority of my titles in the video.
