Well, this is it! Will Maui come out on top?
...Probably not, but I'm proud that I made it this far and had a heck of a time being in this contest! It was wonderful interacting and plotting with some amazing editors and I wish you all the best of luck and many thanks for your support!

PLOT: Maui's sailing alone on the sea, still reeling after his confession to Triton and learning of his grandmother's passing. He's ready to propose to Arista but is worried she'll reject him after learning about how Vaiana died. Then who should appear but Grandma Tala herself to give her grandson some words of encouragement - and a little push in the right direction in how to propose and come clean. Soon after, Maui wakes up - it was all a dream.
Guoliang dresses down the woman he has posing as his daughter, unaware that Maui is listening in. Maui informs Garrett, and the two plot to uncover evidence of his treachery. Garrett distracts him while Maui sneaks into his room. Just as he finds a scroll that has what he needs, Yao enters. Hei-Hei snatches up the scroll before Yao can take it back and a chase ensues. The scroll is torn in half, with Maui hoping what he has is enough.
And now, the moment everyone's been waiting for. Maui recreates his first dinner date with Arista, even bringing back the band of dwarfs. Arista arrives, having been turned into a human for the occasion. Maui shows her how to dance, and it turns into a romantic waltz between the two. She asks if he'll miss dancing like this if he comes to live in Atlantica, and Maui tells her there's no point in missing one little thing about his past life when there's so much for him in the future. Later, he performs his courtship dance and tells her his story: The day he snuck aboard his father's ship as a boy, the boats were hit by a massive storm. His father managed to save everyone - well, almost everyone. Little Vaiana followed her brother aboard as well, and Tui didn't see her until it was too late. His wife died, and Tui blamed Maui for both their deaths. And you know the rest, how Maui fought for his father's approval and fooled around until he met Arista, fell in love, and tried to become a better man thanks to her. And with that, the question is popped.
Hoo boy, I thought I was ready. Then I got swamped with work at the last minute, was running late trying to get this out on time, so I apologize for how sloppy it gets near the end. But I hope you enjoyed it! And don't worry, even if I don't win I still have an epilogue planned =)

Happy Halloween! I originally had plans for a much bigger video instead of a simple fandub, but work got in the way. I didnt want to leave anyone expecting something from me hanging though, and after seeing one of my favorite scary films, Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho rereleased in theaters again recently, I was inspired to do my take on its chilling closing monologue. The shower scene is the most famous part of the movie, but this part leaves you on just the right note, cutting right through that cheesy exposition by the psychiatrist just moments before and diving into Normans mind, where Mother has completely taken over. One of the darkest moments ever put on film in my opinion. I hope you enjoy it, and have a fun and scary Halloween!")
