Tackling medical bills without adequate insurance is a problem many people face, and that includes some dedicated musicians in the state of New York. The Southern Adirondack Musicians Fund is celebrating 20 years of confronting this issue, using the uplifting spirit of song to help performers in crisis shine on.
The Southern Adirondack Musicians Fund is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to musicians and their families who are facing serious health issues, injuries and death. A volunteer and locally oriented charity (serving Saratoga, Washington and Warren Counties of New York), the S.A.M. Fund’s mission is to keep the “wolf from the door” for those in need.
Spotlight producer Paul Larson spoke with organizers of the S.A.M. Fund, who say our area is richer by far because of the incredible number of talented musicians and artists who make their home here.
