I used Xylene to degrade the anti-mildew coating
hardboard from Home Depot to serve as the dry erase board. It isn't as good as a dry erase board but for the price it works good enough in my book. homedepot.com/p/EUCATILE-32-sq-ft-96-in-x-48-in-Hardboard-Thrifty-White-Tile-Board-HDDPTW48/205995949
I used sanded pine plywood because it seems to be a better quality than the sheathing grad plywood: homedepot.com/p/Pine-Plywood-Common-23-32-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-688-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-799397/202677224
UPDATE: I have eliminated the hooks at the baseboard. Instead, I just tied an extra loop that I also hook on the knob on the ends of the bed.
