I picked these pastels up at Jerry's Artarama in Deleware but they are hard to find online. You can get them on Amazon, but they are a bit pricy: amzn.to/40sHnt7
I also used Mungyo Gallery Soff oil pastels, which are a higher grade, softer and more opaque: tidd.ly/4tZepyS or amzn.to/4cGYIG8
Pros:
Size, they are about the size of 4 standard pastels or 5 pentel pastels
Firm, good for lower layers of a painting
Price (they were around $20 in store at Jerries but they don't have the jumbo ones online)
No offensive odor like the Pentel pastels they are the most similar to on consistancy and layonwn.
Cons:
Hard to find online or expensive
No open stock availability
No pigment or lightfast info.
Bottom line:
These are great for the lower layers of a painting. They remind me of Pentel without the smell. If shopping online Pental is a more affordable option tho: tidd.ly/46oRZgf but there are no lightfast info so if you plan to display your work it is a bit of a gamble. They are worth it at the price I paid but not over $30 in my opinion.
