This video demonstrates various methods for testing the effect of a categorical independent variable on the dependent variable in a multiple regression analysis using Stata. I focus mainly on the use of dummy coding and various options for obtaining regression results using dummy coded variables. I also spend time showing viewers how results obtained using dummy coding compare to ANOVA and ANCOVA output (also generated using Stata).
