Getting your kick caught is one of the most common ways fighters get swept or dumped in Muay Thai sparring.

In this quick drill I filmed at Lionheart Muay Thai in Koh Samui, experienced trainers Kru First and Kru Jit demonstrate a simple balance drill that helps you stay stable when your opponent catches your kick.

Kru First brings extensive fight experience with 200+ bouts and appearances at both Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadiums, giving him deep insight into real fight tactics and strategy.

Kru Jit is a former Lumpinee champion with more than 300 fights, known for his technical knowledge and experience coaching fighters and international students in Thailand.

This drill helps develop:
• Balance when your kick is caught
• Recovery positioning during sparring
• Defensive awareness in Muay Thai exchanges
• Stability when attacking with round kicks

Training drills like this are essential for fighters because losing balance after a caught kick often leads to sweeps, dumps, or counters.
