The MT-LB is a Soviet built multi-purpose fully amphibious auxiliary armored tracked vehicle, which was first introduced in the 1950s.
The crew, a driver and a commander/gunner sit in a compartment at the front of the vehicle, with the engine behind them. A compartment at the rear enables up to 11 infantry to be carried or a cargo of up to 2,000 kg. A load of 6,500 kg can be towed. The vehicle is fully amphibious, being propelled by its tracks in the water. A small turret at the front of the vehicle fits a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun with 360-degree manual traverse and an elevation of -5 to +30 degrees. The vehicle is lightly armored against small arms and shell splinters with a thickness of 3 to 10 mm of steel with a maximum of 14 mm for the turret front. The infantry compartment has two hatches over the top, which open forwards.
MT-LBV is low-pressure track version, with 565 mm (22-inch) tracks giving a ground pressure of 0.27 kgf/cm² (26 kPa). Used in Arctic regions instead of BMP or BTR wheeled vehicles.

The Armoured Brigade will lead the Army mechanized exercise Arrow 24 at the Pohjankangas Firing Range and Training Area. Approximately 2600 persons will take part in the exercise, most of them conscripts and about 300 international troops.
Service personnel and conscripts from the Armoured Brigade, Karelia Brigade, Utti Jaeger Regiment, Jaeger Brigade, Pori Brigade, Army Academy, the Defence Forces C5 Agency and the 2nd Logistics Regiment will participate in the exercise. The exercise will involve Army flight operations. Allied troops from the United Kingdom, Latvia and Estonia will also take part in the exercise. The share of international troops of the total strength will be about 300 persons. The exercise will be commanded by the Commander of the Armoured Brigade Colonel Juhana Skyttä.
The aim of the exercise is to strengthen mechanized troops’ cooperation and interoperability with allied troops, and enhance the ability to receive international assistance and provide host nation support. Another objective is to develop the Defence Forces’ joint fires.
–Army mechanized exercises will provide training for mechanized troops and have them rehearse operations. These exercises will involve conscripts and personnel both on the individual and force level. The participation of the Allies will enhance interoperability between troops consisting of different nationalities and create an international operating environment for the exercise. At the same time, the exercise will serve as the most important live-fire exercise of the Finnish conscripts taking part in it, Colonel Skyttä says.
In the exercise, the mechanized troops will train battle group offensive and delaying operations in particular. Operating requires the different branches to cooperate seamlessly.
The share of Finnish troops in the exercise will be about 2250 persons, including some 1850 conscripts. About 500 Defence Forces vehicles will be involved in the exercise, around 150 of them armoured vehicles. The strength of the international troops will be around 300 personnel and 85 vehicles. The United Kingdom will participate in the exercise with an approximately 200 personnel strong training audience with AH-64E Apache combat helicopters, AW159 Wildcat multi-role helicopters and CH-47 Chinook transport helicopters as their main equipment. With Scimitar infantry fighting vehicles and Spartan personnel carriers as their main equipment, the strength of the Latvian troops will be about 95 persons. Estonia will take part in the exercise with ca. 45 personnel with CV9035 infantry fighting vehicles as their main equipment.

Pansarbandvagn 302 (pbv 302), meaning roughly armoured tracked carrier vehicle 302,[a] is a Swedish high-mobility infantry fighting vehicle (Swedish: pansarskyttefordon) used by the Swedish Army from 1966 to 2014.
The vehicle was commissioned by the Swedish Army in 1961 as a modern IFV-design which could replace the recently developed pbv 301 IFV, a placeholder design based on an obsolete tank chassis which did not meet the Swedish Armys future operational requirements. Design and production was handled by Hägglund & Söner in Örnsköldsvik, whose military vehicle business is now BAE Systems Hägglunds. Production ran from 1966 to 1971, and the vehicles were upgraded and renovated multiple times throughout their service life. The design was eventually replaced by the strf 9040 IFV in the 1990s, and saw limited service alongside it until ultimately being removed from service in 2014.
Armament was a modified 20 mm Hispano HS-804 cannon (Swedish: 20 mm akan m/47D) in a one man turret, and internal racks for weapons of the mechanized infantry (Swedish: pansarskytte), such as their service weapons, a ksp 58 squad machine gun and a Carl Gustaf 8.4 cm recoilless rifle, along with ammunition. Later variants were updated with racks for AT4s and some vehicles even received a Bofors BILL man-portable anti-tank missile system. As part of the Swedish IFV-doctrine the vehicle came equipped with roof doors, allowing the mechanized infantry to fight from within the vehicles.
BMP-1
The BMP-1 is a Russian-made tracked armoured infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). The BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle was adopted for service in 1966 with Russian army. It is designed to carry the infantrymen, engage in combat and support the dismounted infantrymen by fire when they fight on foot. By the mid-1960s, the conman infantry squad armed with organic weapons to fight the enemy ether from inside the vehicle or on foot after dismounting. For this purpose, an infantry fighting vehicle, designated BMP-1, was developed. Introduction of tactical nuclear weapons demanded a wider dispersion of troop formations on the battlefield without compromising the firepower of even small subunits. To solve the problem, infantry units must have been provided with own fire support weapons. It was believed that the achievement of this objective would allow worlds first armored vehicle of this class. It possesses a considerable firepower, high mobility, good armor protection and survivability.

The museum also includes a very special exhibition of tin figures, as well as a soldier’s croft dating back to the 17th century, where an accompanying exhibition tells you about a bygone era.
The museum was inaugurated June 17, 2011 and is open year round. Run by a private foundation – Foundation Södermanland Military History collections. The vehicles belong to the Swedish Government – the Swedish National Museums of Military History. The vehicles were previously located to the Tank Museum in Axvall and Military Vehicle Museum in Malmköping. The collection includes about 350 vehicles, of which about 75 are on display in the museum. Some parts of the exhibition changes each year.
Beside the museum there is an original soldiers croft from late 19th century with an accompanying exhibition, The Soldier and the Croft. An exhibition about the history of the local Regiment (Södermanland regiment) tell the story from 14thcentury until 2005 when the regiment was closed. The figure museum is a private collection which previously existed as a museum in Hjortnäs in Dalarna.

[2.7K] The Sherman Firefly was a medium tank used by the United Kingdom and some armoured formations of other Allies in the Second World War. It was based on the US M4 Sherman but was fitted with the more powerful British 76.2 mm (3.00 in) calibre 17-pounder anti-tank gun as its main weapon. Conceived as a stopgap until future British tank designs came into service, the Sherman Firefly became the most common vehicle mounting the 17-pounder in the war.

Firefly was put into production in early 1944, in time to equip the 21st Army Group, commanded by General Bernard Montgomery, for the Normandy landings. It soon became highly valued, as its gun could almost always penetrate the armour of the Panther and Tiger tanks it faced in Normandy, something no other British or American tank could reliably do. Because the Fireflys barrel was visibly longer than that of a normal 75 mm Sherman, crews tried to countershade camouflage it so the tank would look like a regular Sherman from a distance. Between 2,100 and 2,200 were manufactured before production ended in 1945; it is unknown if this includes 100 tanks built for the United States.
The main armament of the Sherman Firefly was the Ordnance Quick-Firing 17-pounder. Designed as the successor to the British QF 6-pounder, the 17-pounder was the most powerful British tank gun of the war, and one of the most powerful of any nationality, being able to penetrate more armour than the 8.8 cm KwK 36 fitted to the German Tiger I. The 17-pounder was theoretically able to penetrate some 163 mm (6.4 in) of armour at 500 m (550 yd) and 150 mm (5.9 in) at 1,000 m (1,100 yd) using standard armour piercing, capped, ballistic capped (APCBC) ammunition. Armour piercing, discarding sabot (APDS) ammunition could penetrate some 256 mm of armor at 500 m and 233 mm at 1,000 m, which on paper could defeat the armour of almost every German armoured fighting vehicle at any likely range.

K9 Thunder Moukari
In July 2016, the Finnish Ministry of Defence announced that an undisclosed number of used K9s have been selected to be acquired from the Republic of Korea. The acquisition is claimed to be biggest of the decade for the Land Forces, whose both mobile and towed artillery face mass outdating in the 2020s. In February 2017, the Ministry of Defence announced that Finland will acquire 48 used K9s over a period of seven years starting in 2018, with conscript training on the equipment commencing in 2019. In November 2022 Finland announced to buy 48 more K9s. After delivery of all weapons Finland will have 96 K9 SPGs.
The K9 Thunder is a South Korean self-propelled 155 mm howitzer developed by Samsung Techwin for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and now manufactured by Hanwha Land Systems. It was developed to supplement and then replace the K55 self-propelled howitzers in South Korean service.
K9 is an indigenous system of an all-welded steel armour construction which is rated to withstand 14.5 mm armour piercing rounds, 152 mm shell fragments, and anti-personnel mines. The main armament consists of a 155 mm/52 caliber ordnance with a maximum firing range of 40 km; the K307 BB-HE projectile propelled by the K676 top charge has a muzzle velocity of 928 m/s (3,040 ft/s). State-of-the-art mobility subsystems include a 1,000 horsepower (750 kW) engine with potential for growth and hydropneumatic suspension unit, a requirement for Koreas rugged mountainous terrain.

K9 Thunder on Korean tasavallassa Samsung Aerospace Industriesin ja Korean tasavallan asevoimien vuosina 1989-1998 kehittämä ja 1999 sarjatuotantoon otettu raskas panssarihaupitsi, jonka valmistaja on nykyään nimeltään Hanwha Land Systems. Myöhemmin määräksi tarkentui 48 yksikön telahaupitsin tilaus. Marraskuussa 2022 Suomi ilmoitti ostavansa 48 yksikköä lisää. Toimitusten päätyttyä Suomella on 96 K9-panssarihaupitsia.

Swedish cold war main battle tank
The Stridsvagn 103 (Strv 103), also known as the S-Tank, is a Swedish post-WWII main battle tank. It is known for its unconventional design: it is turretless with a fixed gun traversed by engaging the tracks and elevated by adjusting the hull suspension. While turretless armoured fighting vehicles are usually classified as assault guns or tank destroyers, despite its unique gun layingprocess, the Strv 103 is considered a tank because its designated combat role matched those of other tanks within contemporary Swedish doctrine. It is the only mass-produced tank since World War II to dispense with a turret.
The Strv 103 was designed and manufactured in Sweden. It was developed in the 1950s and was the first main battle tank to use a turbine engine. The result was a very low-profile design with an emphasis on survivability and heightened crew protection level. Strv 103s formed a major portion of the Swedish armoured forces from the 1960s to the 1990s

About Arsenalen:
The Swedish Tank Museum – Showing the military vehicle development, as well as the military history of Sweden, from the early 20th century until today. The museum also includes a very special exhibition of tin figures, as well as a soldier’s croft dating back to the 17th century, where an accompanying exhibition tells you about a bygone era.
The museum was inaugurated June 17, 2011 and is open year round. Run by a private foundation – Foundation Södermanland Military History collections. The vehicles belong to the Swedish Government – the Swedish National Museums of Military History. The vehicles were previously located to the Tank Museum in Axvall and Military Vehicle Museum in Malmköping. The collection includes about 350 vehicles, of which about 75 are on display in the museum. Some parts of the exhibition changes each year.
Beside the museum there is an original soldiers croft from late 19th century with an accompanying exhibition, The Soldier and the Croft. An exhibition about the history of the local Regiment (Södermanland regiment) tell the story from 14thcentury until 2005 when the regiment was closed. The figure museum is a private collection which previously existed as a museum in Hjortnäs in Dalarna.
