I got my first real bike at 40 years old... I've always loved the outdoors, spent a lot of my youth snowboarding, skating, surfing. I settled down in Norco, CA with an awesome wife and 2 kids. Our house sits at the base of a pretty sweet lil MTB spot. The stars aligned when I NEEDED to be more active for my physical health (to counter act my daily 2hr commute, and 8-12hr desk job as a video editor) and I realized that I essentially had a snowboard park in my back-yard... just no snow, and I'd have to translate my 20 year+ of snowboarding experience to something brand new... Now, Mountain Biking is rapidly improving my life for the better in more ways than I can express. I'm sure many riders have had the same experience with this sport. That's my story.
Now, I want to collect some trail videos to track my progress, and share with my friends to entice them to come out and ride. Also, the kids enjoy watching my adventures.
With just about 10 serious rides under my belt, I decided to venture out of Norco... with a decent hardtail, some basic skills and a little confidence to check out Sycamore Canyon. I explored for about an hour, and found a trail I liked enough to roll the GoPro on, "Mini Moab" here's my first real attempt. Enjoyable, challenging, plenty of bypasses / alt routes available to get through it if you're old, or on the novice end of the spectrum. All things considered, I felt pretty good about my ride & my progress.
Enjoy!
