Here’s the 2025 MTA New York City Subway Pop Up Shop, showing retired signs and other equipment for sale. This year, I waited 1:45 to get in the door (those who arrived around 10 AM took about 3 hours to get in, so I heard).
After browsing around for 30 min, I waited 3 hours in the checkout line. New Yorkers love their subway and MTA didn’t quite plan this very well.
Prices were steep – NYC style. A 42nd Street NRQW sign sold for $2,500, while a small Avenue U sign
was $85. Builders plates were $100 for an R40 and $200 for an R46. Seats were about $600 used or $900 new.
