As requested by loganfruchtman953, I'll be covering Mozart's Symphony No. 40 with the Pokémon RSE soundfont, starting with its first movement.

Mozart's penultimate symphony is by far the most famous of the lot, and perhaps also the best, truly rivaled only by No. 41, the Jupiter Symphony.
It's also his darkest and most emotional symphony and one of Mozart's most pathos-filled creations, although several listeners tend to not perceive it as such.
At first glance, much of it is indeed quite elegant and pleasant, as much 18th-century music was, and it probably sounds tame compared to the heart-on-the-sleeve works from the later Romantic era. However, as is often the case in Mozart, emotions are hidden beneath the surface, behind that veil of grace.

The movement begins with the famous main theme, one of the world's great melodies, immensely passionate and expertly written.
Its accompaniment is remarkable, too. The restless strings that start playing barely a breath before the main theme immediately establish a sense of uneasiness and tremendous urgency. The ominous bass line that begins later (0:09), the woodwinds opening new doors when the melody is begun a second time (0:22), every detail of this music is exceptional and perfectly measured.
The second theme (0:48) is more relaxed and cheerful by comparison and provides welcome relief. Interestingly, ghosts of the main theme (its first six notes, to be exact) appear halfway through it (1:20) and play an important role in ending the exposition in a joyous fashion.

A single brusque chord (1:50), though, is all it takes to take us back to the dark atmosphere of the beginning. After the entire exposition section has been repeated, that brusque chord is followed by two more (3:43), heralding the beginning of the development section.
This dramatic episode concerns itself entirely with the main theme, which is thrillingly taken to new heights (3:58-4:25). For that matter, the first six notes that are so much a distinctive part of it are virtually present in some fashion all the way until we get back to the main theme properly and the beginning of the recapitulation (4:54).

The recapitulation remains quite faithful to the exposition; only a few changes are made, but these are of great impact. A relatively simple one occurs when the main theme is played again: a bassoon adds a new, short countermelody of its own (4:58), effectively adding a layer of further emotional depth to it.
The second theme, which is this time reached via a brief episode of turmoil (5:37), is now in the symphony's main key of G minor (6:03), just as the main theme was. Thus, what was a period of respite before is now given a darker and completely different tone.
Near the end, one last reprise of the main theme is gloomily attempted (7:09) before being thwarted by a terse conclusion.
