HLN | Movie Gun May Have Been Used for Target Practice Before Shooting @hln | Uploaded October 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
The prop gun that actor Alec Baldwin accidentally fired, killing Halyna Hutchins, the assistant director of a movie he was filming, may have been used for "plinking" by other crew members earlier in the day.
Entertainment and media blog "The Wrap" reports, "plinking" is a pastime on some movie sets where crew members will take the prop guns into a rural area and shoot at "beer cans" with live ammo during downtime. At the time of this posting, HLN has not verified that reporting.
